Program Curriculum
- Theory (40 Hours): Chemistry, cleansing and disinfection, EPA, OSHA, blood spill procedures, communicable diseases
- Theory of Permanent Waving (45 Hours): chemistry of permanent wave solution, chemistry of relaxers, and principles of permanent wave rod placement
- Theory of Hair Coloring (45 Hours): chemistry of color, principles of color application, and chemical reactions to hair color
- Theory of Hair & Scalp Treatments and Conditioning (20 Hours): hair analysis, scalp condition, and treatments
- Theory of Hair Cutting (25 Hours): proper handling and care of instruments
- Theory of Shampooing (15 Hours): proper procedures of shampoo, knowledge of shampooing formulas, and water temperature
- Theory of Hairdressing/Hairstyling (35 Hours): 20 hours of training on mannequins and 15 hours of live models
- Theory of Nail Care & Skin Care (25 Hours): concepts/principles of nail care procedures and instrument handling (15 hours), and concepts/principles of skincare procedures/techniques (10 hours)
After completion of Level 1, you will be able to start Level 2.
- Theory (100 Hours): Physiology, electricity, safety precautions, chemistry of beauty products, salesmanship, telephone etiquette, salon deportment
- Professional & Business Skills (50 Hours): Social Skills, Reception/Desk Work, Art and Ethics, State Board Laws and Rules
- Laboratory (50 Hours): Germicidal solution preparation, shampoo/tint/bleach practical training, equipment sanitation
- Hairdressing, Shampoo and Comb-Out (255 Hours): Wet curls, thermo-curling, blow drying, pressing, hot combs

- Chemical Hair Relaxing (139 Hours): Virgin applications and chemical retouches
- Hair Coloring and Lightening (155 Hours): Temporary rinses, semi-permanent color, virgin color, color retouches, bleaching, foiling techniques, color removal, and predisposition tests
- Scalp & Hair Treatment (49 Hours): brushing and manipulation, corrective treatments, and reconditioning treatments
- Facial Treatments, Make-Up, & Hair Removal (52.5 Hours): facial treatments, make-up application, and brow/lash tint
- Hair Removal (30 Hours): lip, chin, and face tweezing, waxing, and threading, brow tweezing, and brow waxing
- Sanitizing & Disinfection of Tools, Implements, and Equipment (5 Hours): implements such as brushes or combs, shampoo & dryer hoods, pedicure spa bowls, hair removal and waxing stations, and manicure stations
- Manicures, Pedicures, and Nail Sculpting (90 Hours): manicures with hands/forearm massage, pedicures with foot/leg massage, and nail sculpting

View Our LocationsYes. Pro Way Hair School accepts transfer credits based on standards set by the Georgia State Board of Cosmetology and Barbering and the school's accrediting agency. Transfer students must submit an official academic transcript for evaluation. Accepted hours count toward both scheduled and completed hours, and students will have 125% of the remaining time to complete the program.
